Big Package

Big package….fun stuff.
Jade opened her first x-mas present (& it was a mighty big box) under the tree at Nana & Grandfather’s house.

Once it was put together…(Nana and da da Eric put it together while we rooted them on and held open the instruction booklet to properly display diagrams). As with most spectating activites some xmas merry makers did choose to drink wine, martinis, and beer during the construction of the babes first xmas toy.
She was very wide eyed about her new walker. It even has a DJ station where she can pound out some tunes and push buttons.
Thank you so much to Nana & Grandfather. We have so far kept her on the carpet ( I am not ready for her to ice skate the wooden floors). She loves it, and it keeps her dazzled for a good 10 minutes so I can get some laundry put away.

Gifts & wrapping paper were covering the living room after the Weber x-mas . It was nice to share a holiday moment with Uncle Justus & Aunt Megan. Also Dan & Jen stopped in to snack & sing some tunes.

We all feasted on all kinds of yummy treats. Deviled eggs, sweet potato rounds, salmon, whole wheat bread from uppercrust bakery ( yum ).

All in all….a very good time.
We are so thankful to have such caring & giving family.

We go to the Farmer’s Market

Saturday morning family outing. Our favorite: the Saturday market. Jade sees the farmers with all kinds of vegetables (florida has quite the bounty of earthy goodies in early December! Such a blessing.)
We run into a few friends, leave with a few loaves of bread, and a giant bag brimming with turnip greens, collards, bell peppers, squash, & radishes.

Its bound to be a good week in the kitchen.

I LOVE YOU MY FAMILY = THANKSGIVING

Jade’s First Turkey Day

Beautiful day,
all the fixins.
Nana Terry’s hard work in the
kitchen created a bounty of
DELUXE, DELISH, DELIGHTFUL
foods to feast on.

Enjoying the time with family,
we each said what we are
THANKFUL for before eating.
Round the table…one by one.
Health, love, family, baby Jade,
one another.

Then we ate. Turkey, duck, stuffing, mashed potatoes, gravy, rolls, cranberries, sweet potatoes, acorn squash, sauerkraut, pineapple casserole. OH MY!

The dinner was concluded with
a pie and a cake created by Mom Mom.  Oh and yes, the mail order kringle pastry that Justus is still raving about days later.

We also enjoyed a fabulous floor show by Jade. She turned & looped and giggled & rolled for a long while.

A fabulous time!
Thank you Terry & Bryan for being such wonderful hosts.

Jade visits THE PHILLIPS CENTER

image

Journey to a strange land

It happened. I had a dream about the Phillips center. In the dream ten stage techs were spending a nice evening relaxing in my living room watching movies. Nicole, the Master Electrician was in charge of the entire scene.

REMEMBER, just a dream.
I decided the dream was a sure sign (after almost 6 months away from work) to go visit the PCPA..((the “center” as it is so lovingly called by a handful of people)).

Well…HOW DID IT GO?
Jade made her debut. Right into the backstage door. She was all smiles to the many folks she met. She enjoyed watching some stage prep for My Fair Lady. The big show comes through the day before Thanksgiving.

It was a joy to see some familiar faces. As you can see Jade was wiped out from the new scene. We must go again soon.

Ten Cent Poetry FALL visit

The good smiles & the good tunes of Chelsea Lynn and Melissa Hyman have graced our house. Jade loves the ladies being around. She is very relaxed in the hands of Aunt Chelsea. Melissa sang a few of her tunes on the back porch for Jade. YES IT HAS BEEN AN AMAZING TIME.

The weather is perfect.

Dad is out hunting for a turkey for the holiday dinner.

I have some sweet potatoes in the oven & a good soup on the stove.  Yet it is probably 80 outside. The fall leaves are beautiful and so is our baby girl.

Check out Ten Cent Poetry. They have a tour blog, a great website…& links to lots of beautiful videos of them playing. Download the tunes from
CD baby…or have them shipped to your door.

Fun with POTHOLDERS.

Top 3 uses of my Grandma Ruths handmade potholders:
1. As a potholder. They have been called “the best pot holder I have ever had” by Jade’s Nana Terry.
2. As a beautiful decoration to spice up any room. I have used them on my altar to give Ganesha a lil padding.
3. As a toy. Soft, colorful, washable.
